Morning Beauty Routine

Good morning!

In one of my previous blogs, I briefly discussed some habits that we ladies need to keep up with. I found that it was not too detailed and let us be honest how many times have you gone on Google for answers? How many times have wondered what other women's hygiene life looks like behind closed doors? Well, I want to open my doors to you and be that sister you have on speed dial if you have any questions and vice versa. So with that let's get started on this new thing called a morning beauty routine.

Just a bit of background before you think I'm a know-it-all, I got into the habit of having a morning beauty routine a year ago. It started during the quarantine when I felt like I needed a bit more structure to my day and my skin was looking dull and dark. I began to research some ways to brighten my skin and have that natural glow without having makeup on. My biological sister and I have always been interested in learning the ins-and-outs of how to be an elegant lady. While researching I found a beautiful list of what to do at night and during the day and from there I selected what I needed because certain things were not a problem for me. Let me just say that I have days where I do not do all of what I am about to mention because life happens but I try my very best to stay consistent or just do it at a later time during the day.

- 6:10 am - I brush my teeth, rinse my face and pat it dry.

- Morning devotion + Workout (if I feel like it lol)

- 9:00 am - I wax/shave and take a shower. I do not have a specific soap I use, I simply make sure that it smells good and that it is a gel that foams up. While in the shower I will use my L'oreal Paris Pure-Clay Red Algae as a cleanser for my face and my armpits. Yesss, I said that. I use my face cleanser on my armpits as well because I need there to be %100 percent clean. Back to the face, I do not merely massage the cleanser on my skin but I literally scrub it, rinse it off and then continue my shower. I have random days where I would use a body scrub and then a shower gel from Yves Rocher called Winter Apples.

- 9:30 am - I pat myself dry and immediately apply glycolic acid from The Ordinary on my face and armpits. The glycolic acid is meant to help with how my skin looks, so it cleans the pores which makes my pore look smaller allowing my skin to look more smooth but it also cleans and removes any smells, hence why I use it in my armpit. If I know I would be going out that day I would not apply the glycolic acid to my face because you can get burnt if you're not wearing sunscreen and I don't wear sunscreen.

I then follow that by moisturizing my body with Aveeno stress relief moisturizer excluding my legs and feet because they are going into the water after. I spray any body mist I have laying around on, while waiting for that to be dry up I apply 3 drops of rose seed hip oil from The Ordinary on my face after rubbing it in my hand for a bit. To be honest, the oil is supposed to help my skin but I use it because it gives me that shiny clean look without feeling heavy and the use of makeup. After applying the oil I will get dressed.

This is the moment where I soak my feet in the water so I can scrub and exfoliate my sole. Once a week I will use my Yves Rocher Foot Exfoliating Gel and then moisturize it as usual with the Yves Roche Ultra Foot Balm. To seal this whole process I apply some petroleum jelly to my lips to keep them moist, do my hair, put on some jewelry and it is a wrap!

If I do it all together it takes no more than an hour which is reasonable if I were to go to work or school. This whole routine is a learning process and it changes from time to time. So I would love to hear what are some of your morning beauty routines? Or if you have any questions I am all ears and answers.

Take care!
